The Centre for Excellence in Financial Inclusions (CEFI) key role is to coordinate, advocate and monitor financial inclusion activities including coordinating stakeholder dialogue towards responsible financial service delivery and service quality, encourage innovation and strengthen financial sector industry development.

CEFI is launching its inaugural 2020 Graduate Development Program and we are seeking expression of interests from recent graduates with passion for financial inclusion, based in Port Moresby.

The CEFI Graduate Development Program offers recent graduates or soon to be graduates cross-functional development through exposure to different units and disciplines, supporting graduates develop leadership capabilities as well as variety of technical skills. Graduates with business degrees and other professional backgrounds in banking and finance, accounting, business management and administration, project management, communications and media, social studies and community development.

This is a prospective opportunity to gain relevant experience in a range of disciplines that contribute to greater financial inclusivity for Papua New Guineans.

The Graduate Program offers;

  • On the job training in CEFI’s business units including financial inclusion coordination, financial inclusion training, communications and stakeholder mobilisation, finance and administration and special projects.
  • Participation and exposure in projects and initiatives within various business units, submit monthly progressive reports to respective line managers/supervisors and participate in research and draft reports that contribute to the growth of financial inclusion in Papua New Guinea.
  • Participation and exposure in administrative functions and participate in initiatives including dissemination of financial inclusion data and reports, hands on experience in preparation of presentation materials for core business use and participating in activities organised by stakeholders in the financial inclusion industry.


  • Recent graduate with Bachelor’s degree in banking and finance, business field, management, communications and social studies, or in final year of studies.
  • Possess excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, report writing and leadership skills.
  • Familiar with MS office applications and have a keen interest in financial inclusion
