The “Training and Coaching Program for Women’s Businesses”, is a partnership initiative of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), and is implemented by the Centre for Excellence in Financial Inclusion (CEFI). A total of 203 urban-based women’s small – and medium-sized entrepreneurs (WSMEs) were trained and coached in digital financial literacy, business planning and debt management, and e- commerce in 2021 – 2022. Given the positive outcome of the program, CEFI is preparing to host the same program again in 2023.

The following are the objectives of the program:

1. Digital Financial Literacy; enables WSMEs to;

• Identify digital financial products and services;
• Understand the advantages of digital financial services and products;
• Know how to access and use the digital financial services and products for the benefit of their own businesses

2. E-Commerce; enables WSMEs to;

• Identify e-commerce platforms in PNG;
• Understand the purpose, significance and the advantages of using e-commerce platforms;
• Learn the process of doing business through e-commerce platforms.

3. Business Planning and Debt Management; enables WSMEs to;

• Understand the concept of business planning;
• Learn and appreciate the purpose and significance of business planning;
• Learn the process of business planning’
• Understand the concept of Debt Management;
• Identify ways to manage debt.

Coaching and mentoring support will be provided after the training sessions.
